Having just returned from the Hawaiian Islands Saturday, where I was immersed in nature for 10 days, I am feeling weirdly out of place here. I am reminded to stay focused on the New Moon message of trusting in the process of life and staying positive, while planting new seeds of personal and professional desires and goals. It is a choice of attitude on how I want to experience my life no matter where I am or what the circumstances are. So I took a nap, got on my bike, bought groceries, and am starting to feel at home again. Life is good! The New Moon is the ideal time.

Full moons are all about letting go, completion, and trusting the process. This is part of the natural life cycle. Often this can bring up issues of control, which can create disturbance in the energy flow. In Chinese Medicine this is called Rebellious Qi. That is when the energies in the body, mind, and spirit run contrary, and we get stuck causing dis-ease within our system. In addition, we have been in a Mercury Retrograde cycle, when the planet spins backwards, since April 28 and ending on May 22. This period can cause difficulties with communication. However, it is also a wonderful opportunity to review, refine, and explore our dreams.
Happy Mother’s Day! A joyous day to celebrate the miracle of life with the people we love! I am blessed to have twin sons, Jake and David, who are 29 years old. I remember the day I gave birth all those years ago as being the most amazing day of my life! Those two perfect, precious babies, have now grown into these handsome, loving men. We enjoy each other’s company and are going to the Padres game on Sunday celebrate our special day. Throughout the years in my healing practice, I have helped many people experience the gift of life as well. I feel like a fairy Godmother helping make.
Mystical, magical full moon time! It’s rumored to be a green full moon, first time in a hundreds of years! However, I woke up to a golden full moon out my bedroom window. This is a powerful energy supporting us to let go of old ideas, desires, and/or behaviors that are not working anymore. Anything is possible! During this intense transition period, I am seeing a lot of people suffering going through difficulty with sickness or tragedy. It is important to remember that sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. Like the saying goes, it’s always darkest before the dawn. Transformation is happening even if it doesn’t look like.
Wonderful possibilities for transformation are available every moment of the day. This is true in nature and for us as well. This is the time of year when we can actually see change in progress. As nature blooms and prospers with the elements of air and water, so do we with are our thoughts and actions. The body, mind, and spirit connection is the key element in holistic healing. As we think, we create. This is a powerful aspect of our being which can either heal us or hurt us depending on our focus. If we are out of balance for too long, stuck in a negative rut, experiencing long-term.
Spring Equinox is the day of equal lightness and darkness, the transition between Winter and Spring. This time may challenge us in mind, body, and spirit, as Mother Nature is showing us the importance of balance, embracing the totality of being. I am off to the desert to explore this theme. In Chinese Medicine, we have just emerged from Winter, or the Water element, which is more internal, a time to recharge our batteries before bursting forth into spring. Spring, or the Wood element, is the exact opposite. An exciting time of new beginnings. It is external: wood grows and expands. Wood is associated with anger and creativity; achieving goals and.
As I sit in the park enjoying this beautiful March afternoon, I notice life happening around me. Spring is in the air, happiness everywhere, children running to and fro, families gathering for a picnic, the sound of laughter and romance are tangible. Leaves blowing from the trees, hawks circling in a cloudy sky, and life force flowing create a sense of harmony. March is a time for rebirth and transformation. After months of stuck energies, lightness of being can be felt. The water element of Pisces focuses on the emotional centers of the heart and the will to help dreams come true. The new moon energies and a powerful solar eclipse.
Happy Chinese New Year! The year of the red fire monkey. This auspicious day also falls on the new moon. This is a perfect time to start something new or go forward with goals and dreams that the winter months may have stagnated. The theme for fire monkey, is taking risks with a light-hearted, playfulness. We are also celebrating Leap Year and Valentine’s Day to enhance are sense of wonder! Originally Valentine’s Day was called the Day of Sweetness because Spring is on its way. Traditionally, a day for lovers and couples. This day can create loneliness if you’re single, which I am. The benefits of being sweet to one’s.
As we transition through the weathering storms, I find myself in and out of hibernation mode. This is a natural state of being in Winter, connecting with oneself on a soul level is very therapeutic and transformative. However, after awhile too much isolation can cause stagnation and pain and I start to feel lonely. I am grateful to connect with others to create balance and enjoy the benefits of living a healthy life. One of my greatest joys is my life work. I love coming the office to help others’ create a healthy, happy life as well. It was not always the case. Thirty years ago I was in the.
